After checking out A Face Project a few times, you might have assumed that all of our features faces would be human. Not so. A good story is a good story, and certainly all species are welcome on this site.

For good measure, Lido let his humans, Dan and Allison, share his tale that is part love story and part medical drama. With details about Lido’s adoption, to the discovery of his life-threatening heart murmur, to the deluge of support from friends and family, Dan and Allison tell this story with touching humor, love, and gratitude.
Pet people and non-pet people alike will no doubt find this one moving. With a love story like this, it’s of little importance who plays with the squeak toy and who doesn’t.

An update on this adorable pooch from his owner, Dan:
“Lido the wonderful and amazing Olde English Bulldogge has made it through his surgery. He is much better for it! I believe he needed it now and any further delay could have meant death for him, his heart was working so hard and pushing blood through a pinhole. The loving staff at the University of Minnesota Veterinary hospital are amazing all around. One statement the financial coordinator said wa…s that she has never seen a family fundraise like we did. This is due to just such an amazing outpouring of love, I couldn’t even start to credit people on facebook because it’s been so many. So many, it makes me cry, it’s amazing, it’s a miracle and I have a renewed faith in humanity, my friends and friends of friends and I’m just teary eyed with gratitude and wow. Today is a good day. Lido is well he’s going to live a good life now. Thank you! He is home now and he was so happy to see us he just wiggles his whole body with love. He has a recovery period which will be hard with his little sister Isis around but he is going to make it!”
